How to Remove the Threads Icon From Your Instagram Profile

You can easily remove the Threads shortcut from your Instagram account by following these steps:

  1. Open the Instagram app on your device and tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
  2. Tap the Edit profile button.
  3. Tap on the toggle next to Show Threads shortcut to turn it off.
  4. Save your changes by tapping the check icon in the top right corner of your screen.

That's it! You have successfully removed the Threads shortcut from your Instagram account. You can still access Threads from your device's home screen or app drawer. If you ever change your mind and want to add the Threads shortcut back to your Instagram profile, you can simply follow the same steps and turn on the toggle again.

There’s currently no way to remove the Instagram icon from your Threads profile. One of the things to know before joining Threads is that your Instagram and Threads accounts are intrisically linked.
